🦋 Offering a more complex flavor profile with a stronger matcha taste, our Ceremonial Matcha is naturally creamy with umami richness. Ideal for crafting luxurious lattes, it can also be enjoyed on its own to fully appreciate its depth and nuances.
🥛 Tasting notes in a latte: Medium-rounded, rich in umami with a smooth, pleasant finish - no bitterness or astringency at all. Similar to Yamamasa Koyamaen's Maki no Shiro.

🍵 Tasting notes in an usucha (thin tea): smooth, creamy, savory, bold, has a natural sweetness and tartness. Slightly bitter but not unpleasant.

🌷 This blend's aroma carries subtle floral, toasted, nutty, and buttery notes. It is smooth, delicate, yet straightforward, making it perfect for matcha beginners and ideal as a daily matcha powder.
Harvest process:
- Harvested from the first flush—the very first spring harvest—our Ceremonial Matcha uses the youngest and most delicate leaves, handpicked with care.
- The leaves are shaded for several weeks before harvest, a process that enhances chlorophyll production (giving it its vibrant green color 💚) and increases levels of L-Theanine and other antioxidants.
- The leaves are then dried and finely ground using traditional stone mills.
🍀 Cultivar blend: Okumidori, Kanayamidori, and Yutakamidori. Watch out for more blends!
🥛 Each tin contains 30 grams of powder, which is about 15-20 servings.
✅ All tins are reusable and made with food-grade materials.

As a matcha girlie from the province, quality matcha powders are NOT accessible to me. My introduction to making matcha at home is purchasing the locally repacked matcha powders sold online. I learned about moonbug via Tiktok and the reviews really convinced me - plus it’s always soldout so it really intrigued me. I REALLY GET THE REVIEWS NOW. I did not get the feedback about “nuttiness” before but I do now. I like my matcha sweet so I add white chocolate mocha sauce to it or even condensed milk. I know it pairs well with oat milk but I have no issues with using regular full milk. Hey, to each their own. Will definitely repurchase and I hope I can get the tin that it comes in. I purchased my own tin for now.
Upon opening the pack I was hit with this chocolatey smell (also kinda reminds me of kanbayashi shunsho’s aya no mori). It has this beautiful color and again it makes a really smooth matcha with no bitterness at all. Just like the smell, the taste gives off dark chocolate notes. I also found that the “matcha taste” doesn’t get so easily diluted in milk and sweetener which i love.
Only other comment is … pls restock the tin can versions HAHAHA.
I've been on a hunt for great quality matcha lately and I wanted to support local businesses too. I've been seeing great reviews for Moon Matcha and I'm sooo glad I was able to buy their ceremonial grade matcha + their hojicha when they first launched. No regrets buying! Their matcha is so easy to drink. It's vibrant and nutty, with no bitterness at all. It's even great as is in a latte; no need for sweeteners.
This is one of my favorite local matcha powders! Very rich and complex notes. Rich, umami, slightly vegetal. Love it!
Pairs so well with oatmilk! Taste is not bitter - perfectly nutty and umami. 🍵 This matcha is probably the closest I’ve found to my preferred matcha taste 🩷 Can’t wait to order again
